Academic Qualifications
  1.  National Diploma in Technology in Civil Engineering, University of Moratuwa, October 1983.
  2.  Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka, Part I and Part II (final) examination in Civil Engineering, 1988. (Equivalent to BSc Engineering)  




Primary and Secondary Education

Namalie was a primary student of Holy Family Convent, Dehiwela, Sri Lanka from 1967 to 1972 and moved to St. Paul's Girls' School, Milagiriya after obtaining high marks at grade 5 national level examination.

At St. Paul's Girls' School, Milagiriya, Colombo 4, Sri Lanka she excelled in her studies and achieved 10 A Grade passes with distinctions at the National Certificate of General Education, 1975 and was the best student of the school. Also, passed in General Certificate of Education  (Advanced Level) with  distinctions & credits in Pure Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Applied Mathematics in 1979.


Served as a member of the school committee as a prefect and a house captain in 1978. Also, the President/Chairperson and a Member of several societies such as Catholic Students Society, Christian Movement, Drama Society, Science Society, Secretary of Sinhala Literature society for many years.
